Who would conceive of a log structure
18,000 square feet in size? Honka, of course, and we consider it one of
our largest—and most successful—design challenges. Our customary reverence
for nature fit well with the spiritual ambiance this structure required.
Well ordered, uplifting angles take the eye skyward. Yet the uniformity
of design brings the various architectural elements together in an appealing,
understated manner that soothes the soul. This humble colossus was delivered
by the Honkarakenne Oyj subsidiary Finwood and built by the Dutch company
Finnhouse Houtbouw B.V. |
